Founded in 1993, sneaker and sportswear retailer Shoe Palace is commemorating its 23rd anniversary with a fitting make-up of the
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star.A nod to Michael Jordan and his famous jersey number, the
timeless silhouette bears a full elephant print upper. Introduced on the Air Jordan 3 in 1988, the print is being used on a non-Jordan/Nike
product for the first time ever here. Readers should note that this shoe is not an official collaboration with Jordan Brand.
Shoe Palace has strong ties to Converse UK, which was its first major account and has been sold
in its locations since day one. The Chuck Taylor All Star has always been a top-five seller for the company and comes in at a price point
that all collectors, families and loyal shoppers can afford.
The options are somewhat limited, as the three different bases pretty much lock in the upper of the sneaker. Designers can apply Deadshot,
Harley Quinn, or Joker graphics to the shoes.Interestingly, Nike Trainers is calling this the
"Custom Chuck Taylor DC Comics Squad High Top" rather than explicitly mentioning the full name of the movie. The word "suicide" appears
nowhere on the product page, no doubt in an effort to avoid any controversy that could arise from Nike or Converse attaching that word to one
of their shoes.
Since Converse is part of the Nike, Inc. umbrella, the brand is often allowed to borrow tech from Nike on its sneakers. It doesn't have
access to Flyknit just yet, but the brand does have some knit shoes coming out.The
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II UK is seen here in new knit iterations featuring vibrant colors
inspired by lighting arrangements at concerts. While the model doesn't have Flyknit, it does have another Nike tech: Lunarlon foam appears in
the sockliner to give the shoe a smoother ride than traditional Chucks. This new pack of colorful Converse launches on April 1 in Asia, April
18 in Europe, and April 25 in North America.
