I think The Visions were my favorite on Uni (sorry Strawberry Alarm Clock and Factory). The "Threshold of Love" single is hard to beat.

Is this the same Texas band that did "Small Town Commotion"? I have that one.

Yes, same Visions. I think there were only two singles, both prod by Gary Zekely. the Threshold of Love 45 is available with that song on both sides (which seems to be more common) and also is avaliable with a different b-side (How Can I Be Down).
And, doesn't Uni stand for Universal?
And, if you like Small Town Commotion, the Looking Glass' Uni single, Virginia Day's Ragtime Memories, is another great Zekely (as Yodar Critch) production. There's another version of this song by Collage, on Smash, which isn't nearly as good. Smash is another favorite label.

Yeah, Smash was cool. We ought to start a thread on that. There's a decent history of Uni at Global Dog, as well as the mouth-watering discography of course. My favourite, I think, is what appears to be the first single on the label - by the wonderful Daily Flash.

Not to mention "You Must Be a Witch" by Lollipop Shoppe, which isn't quite sunshine pop, though. Too bad their lp doesn't measure up to the single.

Yeah, their album was a disappointment to me too. The Great Love Trip single is well worth seeking out and the Marcia Strassman stuff is worth checking out too. The Giant Crab are big favourites of mine.

I like Marcia's Self-Analysis/Stargazer 45, not the others so much. I'm really a sucker for Michael Lloyd -- he's worthy of his own page on this forum.

I'm really a sucker for Michael Lloyd -- he's worthy of his own page on this forum. ^^I agree! Michael Lloyd is a sunshine pop genius! I wonder how much Lloyd involved stuff there is? A few faves I have: The Markley "A Group" lp All of the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band stuff American Revolution Song (was this a Lloyd/Beottcher effort?) Smoke October Country California Spectrum Lauging Wind Does anyone know if The Edge who did "Seen Through The Eyes" had any Lloyd involvement? Because two of their members were from The American Revolution, who were a Lloyd band.

Mr Lloyd was in the Raw Edge (one 45 on Sidewalk records), but I'm not sure about the Edge. He was also Boystown and Rockit who issued one single each, and arranged -- and played on? --at least one side (Beat the Clock) of Elfstone's World Pacific 45. Then there's the New Dimensions -- a surf band he started (at 13 or so) with Jimmy Greenspoon, later of 3 Dog Night. He's peripherally involved on the St John Green lp (on Flick Disc same label as American Revolution). Here's a link to a compilation of West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band members' extracurricular releases: therockasteria.blogspot.com/2013/03/west-coast-pop-art-experimental-band_30.html?utm_source=BP_recentMicheal is also on The Rogues track on that comp.
