Sorry, it was meant to read World Pacific! Mainly a home for jazz and the nascent world music craze, they issued some excellent rock and pop 45s - December's Children, Raga & The Talas, Sandals, Marketts, Gypsy Trips, Gosdin Bros, Hard Times.... you gotta love a label that released Ravi Shankar singles!

How about Natural Resources. I have some sunshine pop stuff on that label. Wonder how much was released on it?

Besides the Joyride 45s, my two favorites are the Vince Donofrio singles: Weather's Better/I Won't Be There and Daisy/Kazoo Symbols (the latter of which is one of the craziest two-siders imaginable). Also partial to the Electric Tomorrow and Meditations 45s. Re: the Hard Times, I much prefer the 45 versions over the lp counterparts.

I've been enjoying the Joyride on your recommendation. I think the Hardtimes album would have been better if it had been recorded six to nine months earlier. I like it but it ain't quite as snappy as, say, the Robbs album.

Yeah, I like the Robbs lp, too -- especially Bittersweet. Anything Sloan-Barri is tops in my book. Most of the Robbs' non-lp 45s are pretty good (Castles in the Air !!). I've managed to find mp3s of some pre-Robbs 45 as well.

I splashed out on the 3 CD Robbs set that pretty much has everything. I must dig that out - it's all good stuff.

The Hardtimes lp would`ve been MUCH better if it had included the non-lp singles.
